Blu-ray the next gen of DVD ?

null

Blu-ray Disc is the ultimate next generation optical packaged media format, offering the following key features:

1. Largest capacity (25 GB single layer – 50 GB dual layer) – with over 5 times the amount of content possible with current DVD, particularly well suited for high definition feature films with extended levels of interactive features

2. Pristine picture quality with the capability for full high definition resolution 1920 x 1080p

3. Best audio possible with native uncompressed surround sound (it is better than theater sound)

4. Enhanced Interactivity – seamless menu navigation, exciting new bonus features, network/ internet connectivity

5. Broadest industry support – ensuring more choice for consumers in the marketplace

6. Hardware products will be backward compatible with DVD, allowing continued enjoyment of existing DVD libraries

7. Robustness of Disc – new breakthroughs in hard coating technologies means that Blu-ray Disc offers strongest resistance to scratches and finger prints on a bare disc the same size as existing CD and DVD (i.e. no cartridge is required)

Just for information, that "Apple, Dell, HP, Hitachi, LG, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, Sun Microsystems, TDK, Thomson, Twentieth Century Fox, Walt Disney, Warner Bros" already SUPPORT blu-ray as the next media format after DVD.

You already can enjoy the Blu-ray capability in PlayStation3 and the new Sony Vaio.

Will it be the leader of media disc? only we can answer this, all depend on how much the player will cost, how much the black blu-ray and the blu-ray burner will cost and how enthusiasms of the consumer... we only can wait...

at least now you know... what's the power of Blu-ray B)
