After the disapointing PS1 Emulator release by Sony which requires you to have a PS3 heres some better news.

Finally is the release time of PS1P the PlayStation Emulator for the PSP - An Exclusive for the PSP News site at DCEmu. Its been a long wait but our friend Anonymous Coder has now agreed to release the first Alpha of his Playstation Emulator for the PSP.

This release was to be a Single Game release but AC contacted me today and changed his mind so thats great for you all, heres what he emailed me:

The wait is worth it. I'm releasing a version that will run anything. ISO, BIN, Z and ZNX.

The rest you know. scph1001.bin and images in the __SCE__ps1p directory.

This version has some compatibility problems which I plan to fix soon, for example the FF7 intro movie doesn't run. You can play the game though, just get past the intro using a standard PC emulator (PCSX, ePSXe, ...) and copy over the memory card file ( mcd001.mcr or mcd002.mcr).

Use L+R+ up/down to tweak the CPU timing.
I think L2 and R2 aren't working at the moment too.

P.S.: to make things clear. This emulator has nothing to do with PCSX, psx4all or any other emulator already released. The only thing I did was use for the game selection screen, the same font code that psx4all uses--it's from some GP2X demo/app.

*yawning* 1.11 am in the morning, nothing to do, and very lazy to do anything.. and suddenly :idea2: hahaha I'll play with my cats... and sorry Bon2... I chose you this time :>

But before that, let me say few things about him, his name is Bon2, and already 3 years old. His born from Ragdoll family (lucky him) he's very cute, really like air con, very lazy, and his meowing is very sad :)) (only meowing when his hungry or he want to go inside of air con room :>>)

I think he must be very irritated when I recorded him :lol: but well here's the video...



Btw... I have three cats, one of it is Bon2, and the other two is Porridge and Ginger. Porridge is the "Three Colors" (obviously because he has 3 colors in his furs), and the last one is Ginger "The Orange", and you can always see him on most of cats food (famous huh? / too common?) :., Ginger is the most friendly cat among them, and Porridge is always scared of anything, and I love all them... ;)

Rumor ::
The third trailer was leaked with unfinished CGI.. but Venom was definitely inside the trailer. Sony has ordered to removed this trailer from the internet. It wasn't supposed to come out until February 2007 with Ghost Rider. If you search good on Google you can find the trailer or at least images of Venom taken from the trailer.

11/16/2006 - A UCLA student was using a computer in the library. During a routine security check he was unable to produce his ID. This led to him being tazed 5-6 times and handcuffed.



tazed is some kind of stun gun / electric shock device, its extremely pain even though you only feel for a few second... >:( the officers really abusing their power !! I hate when someone abuse power !! Its not because the student don't want to stand up.. its because he CAN'T stand up !! stupid moron officers !!

Today I went to BMC office at Jurong East. Actually I already submitted the application a few days ago. Reached there sign some documents and talk about all the thing related with the study next year, and paid for the registrations fee also, btw I took Diploma in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality... and must wait 6 weeks for the student pass (if approved).

And if everything goes well, I'll start school at 8 January 2007 (end in June 2008) in Dhouby Ghaut BMC Branch (thanks goodness LOL) because the Jurong East branch not so good :P I mean the environment...

new friend, new environment for next year ! but... study?! ach... a bit lazy :lol:

Sony has posted the PSP 3.00 firmware manual on their site. There are indeed a few great features, 2 of which are quite tempting (for me... I still want to play homebrews, so you know what's my opinion :>>)

Update :: Nov 22 - Well that wasn’t long; Sony has quickly released FW 3.01, nothing new — just a security patch. (Maybe Sony realized some "holes" in security, then they quickly update it :))

Remote Play
Remote play is a new feature in Firmware 3.00 that allows you to remotely control your PlayStation 3 from your PSP. This also includes the display of PS3 content on the PSP. “You can display a PLAYSTATION®3 system screen on a PSP™ system and play content that is on the PS3™ system. To use this feature, you must adjust the necessary settings on the PSP™ system and the PS3™ system.” Using this new mode of playback, one can control the Photo, Music, Video, and Internet Browser features of the PlayStation 3 from a remote location via their Playstation Portable.

Video Compatibility
In this updated version of the Playstation Portable firmware, you are also able to play a few new video formats. The Motion JPEG format (M-JPEG), is an “informal name for multimedia formats where each video frame or interlaced field of a digital video sequence is separately compressed as a JPEG image” (Wikipedia). The PlayStation Portable plays both the Linear PCM and the μ-Law versions of the Motion JPEG video format. In addition, you will now be able to access the Camera (functionality) from the photo option menus, for quicker easier access when taking photos or video. Another nifty function is the ability to finally turn off Auto Play for inserted UMD Discs via UMD Auto Boot. (Thanks zerojay)

Here’s the big tip you’ve been waiting for. Finally, Sony is going to drop their highly anticipated PlayStation One emulator onto the PSP. From the manual however, there seems to be a unavoidable catch. If you don’t have a PS3, your not going to be enjoying PlayStation One games emulating on Sony’s PlayStation One emulator for PSP anytime soon. From the manual it states that you must connect to the Playstation Online store with your PSP connected to the PlayStation 3 in order to download and play the games. In addition, they mention that you can in fact share the games, but you must activate the other system in the Friends menu as a PS3 Network Account.

Nintendo Wii Will Play DVDs in 2007
Nintendo has selected Sonic to enable the DVD playback functionality in the Wii. The Wii is the only late generation console that launched sans DVD playback capability. This was a big deal for some as we talked about a while back.

Sonic Solutions are the folks behind the perennial Roxio CD and DVD software that seems to be issued to every new computer user along with their mouse and keyboard. Nintendo originally left the DVD playback function off the Wii to help cut costs, but is adding it back in for a premium version.

The reason is because of the devices inside, besides the super computer called Cell, Sony also implanted a graphic processor called RSX, the gfx processor helps PS3 to maximize the graphic performance when its connected to HD-TV.



Only with one touch, we can operate PS3 automatically. On the front side we can see the Blu-ray tray with minimalistic design as wel as the eject and power button which blended together with the surface (these two buttons are flat)

Just for info that, PS3 HD can be replace with any other HD brand :) so.. its not necessary to use SONY brand (hahaha at least SONY did some great decision LOL)



On the back side, we can see a lot cable hole there and as we notice in this PS3 got new hole for HDMI output beside LAN (for networking), Optical Output, AV Multi Out, and AC in. The interesting part is the window on the back side of this PS3 id wider than the PS2 (not like PS2 where the window was half-covered by the HDD) with wider window in PS3, the machine can minimalistic the heat.



Now let's take a look with the controller.. when you touched PS3's controller called Sixaxis, it'll remind you with the old PSX controller, it's very light, beside that.. now there's no cable who bothered you when you play game AKA wireless (no cable.. which mean you need to charge when the battery running out, but don't worry you still can play game when the controller is charging) and also support the motion sensing (Copy Wii?), the minus point from this controller is NO VIBRATION!! that is correct, SONY removed the vibrate function in PS3's controller (Let's wait with the future release from this controller, I'm pretty sure, SONY will launch the vibrate controller)



The interface... if you see the screen shot below, you'll notice the "PSP feeling" hahah yeah.. SONY decided to use the same interface as PSP, here's the format detail PS3 supported

and every time you want to start the game, the icon of the game will shown on the game menu (same as PSP) and of course if you need higher firmware to play the game, they'll put icon for updating the firmware.. :) or :( ?? you decided LOL :))

for this moment, PS3 sell with 20GB and 60GB built in HDD, now your time to choose...

XBOX360 , PlayStation 3, or Nintendo Wii :)
